This is Ustadh Shafiq Zaman from Pakistan. For as long as he could remember, he had one wish — to be able to paint even one panel on the walls of Masjid an-Nabawi. In 1990, he entered a competition in the Hijaz to restore 133-year-old calligraphy on the old structure of the mosque and create new designs for new structures added to the building.
He won the competition and has been working in Masjid al-Nabawi for the last 30 years. He is the blessed man whose calligraphy is used on the blessed rawda of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. This is a matter of pride and happiness for those of us who descend from the Subcontinent. May Allah bless him immensely.
