Abuja, Nigeria — September 17, 2025
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the successful completion of all refund reconciliations for the 2025 Hajj exercise, covering 19 states across the federation. The development marks the closure of financial matters from this year’s pilgrimage and clears the path for early preparations toward the 2026 Hajj season.
According to the Commission, the refunds addressed excess payments made by intending pilgrims due to exchange rate fluctuations and adjustments in service charges. With the reconciliation process finalized, NAHCON assured Nigerian Muslims that the commission is now “fully focused on strategic planning” for next year’s pilgrimage.
In a statement, NAHCON emphasized that reports of unresolved financial accounts delaying preparations were false and misleading. The commission maintained that transparency, accountability, and early planning remain central to its operations.
Focus on 2026
Officials revealed that arrangements are already underway to engage with state pilgrim boards, travel agencies, and Saudi authorities to secure improved welfare, accommodation, feeding, and transportation for Nigerian pilgrims in 2026.
The Commission also hinted at new digital platforms to streamline registration and payment processes, while reinforcing its commitment to cost efficiency and better service delivery.
As Nigeria begins its countdown to the next Hajj, NAHCON called on prospective pilgrims to begin early preparations, urging stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling exercise.
