The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has held a preparatory meeting with State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards to assess readiness for the 2026 Hajj airlift operations.
The meeting, held at the commission’s conference hall in Abuja, was chaired by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Ismail Abba Yusuf, and attended by commissioners, senior management staff and representatives of state pilgrims’ agencies.
Discussions focused on key aspects of preparations, including processing of Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), compliance with yellow card requirements, and arrangements for pilgrims’ luggage and approved travel bags.
“The meeting reviewed the level of preparedness of states and critical requirements needed for a smooth airlift of pilgrims,”
Participants were also briefed on updates to the 2026 Hajj flight schedule as provided by approved air carriers.
NAHCON emphasised the need for strict adherence to guidelines to ensure seamless coordination of the pilgrimage exercise.
