As part of efforts to stem the spread of the Corona Virus pandemic in Nasarawa state and the country at-large, the Executive Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Mallam Idris Ahmad Almakura has received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Lafia, the state capital on Thursday.
Mallam Almakura called on staff of the board to follow suit saying the vaccine will serve as a safe guard to their health system.
Almakura who spoke through his spokesman, Abdulrazak in a statement, said “now that the hajj saving scheme has been launched in the state, the board will start experiencing influx of people for either enquiry or deposit”.
According to him, the vaccine is compulsory among all staff “except those with special conditions”.
“As at the time of filing this report, about half of the staff have been vaccinated including all the Directors,” the statement said.
