Newly opened sections of the Third Ring Road and Prince Saud Al Faisal Road are intended to ease congestion and improve access across Makkah
The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has opened several newly developed road sections along the Third Ring Road and Prince Saud Al Faisal Road, cutting travel times by more than 90%.
The Third Ring Road expansion adds a 1.5 kilometre stretch connecting the Prince Metab intersection with the Grand Mosque intersection via the Prince Sultan intersection.
Traffic has also begun moving along the final section of Prince Saud Al Faisal Road, linking the Prince Mohammed bin Salman axis with Abdulqadir Koshak Street through the Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz intersection.
The new sections are intended to reduce congestion, improve road safety and make movement across the city more efficient for residents and visitors.
