The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba, has commended Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of pilgrims from the state.

Ambassador Abba gave the commendation today when he led a high-level delegation of the commission on a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, Lafia. The delegation included the executive secretary of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (NSMPWB), Idris Almakura, and other top officials of the commission.

Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Abba expressed NAHCON’s pride in the exemplary performance of the Nasarawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board under the leadership of Idris Almakura. He noted that the state has consistently remained ahead of other states of the federation in pilgrim management, attributing this to the governor’s priority attention to the welfare and well-being of Nasarawa pilgrims.

“We are proud of the manner in which Idris Almakura is handling the activities of the state pilgrims. Nasarawa State has set a benchmark that other states can learn from, and this would not have been possible without the enabling environment provided by His Excellency GovernorAbdullahi Sule,” Ambassador Abba stated.

In a solemn moment during the visit, the NAHCON Chairman also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Governor and the entire people of Nasarawa State over the recent demise of Barrister Ahmad Bage, a younger brother to the Emir of Lafia, HRH Justice Sidi Bage. He prayed for the eternal repose of the deceased and for strength for the bereaved family.

Responding, Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciated the NAHCON delegation for the visit and the kind words of commendation. He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue prioritizing the welfare of Nasarawa pilgrims and to sustain the state’s leading position in hHajjoperations across the country.

The visit underscored the cordial working relationship between NAHCON and the Nasarawa State Government, as both parties reiterated their commitment to ensuring seamless pilgrim welfare services.
