Pakistan and India have officially commenced registration processes for pilgrims intending to participate in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In Pakistan, over 250,000 citizens had registered by July 8, with the deadline set for July 9, 2025. Registration is being conducted through the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ online portal and 15 designated banks nationwide. The process is also open to overseas Pakistanis with valid passports. Applicants can choose between the Government and Private Hajj Schemes, while the full cost and policy guidelines are expected to be announced separately.
In India, the Haj Committee, under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, opened its application window on July 7. Interested pilgrims can register via the official Haj portal or through the “HAJ SUVIDHA” mobile app. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2025.
Applicants are required to possess a machine-readable Indian passport valid until at least December 31, 2026. The committee has advised intending pilgrims to ensure full readiness before applying, warning that cancellations without valid emergencies could attract penalties.
The early commencement of registration reflects both countries’ commitment to facilitating a smooth Hajj experience for their citizens in 2026.
