Married Couple No Longer Allowed In Same Room During Hajj

According to a report by The Vocal News, it was revealed that the Saudi Arabian government has announced that husbands will no longer be allowed to stay in the same room as their wives. Yes, this new regulation will come into effect from Hajj 2025. As it happens, male and female pilgrims will be housed in separate rooms and men will not be allowed to enter the rooms of female pilgrims either.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that even though husbands and wives will not be sharing a room, their rooms will be located nearby for easy assistance if the need arises.

In fact, each floor will have a reception area where the couples can meet and talk. Additionally, the age limit for the elderly category has now been lowered to 65 years from 70. And they will all be housed together!

With the aim of enhancing the comfort and privacy of female pilgrims, this guideline has been introduced. In fact, Indian pilgrims who were previously allowed to stay together due to advanced age and low literacy levels will no longer be allowed to do so. They will also be housed separately by gender. It should be noted that 1,75,000 people travel from India to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
