The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON has informed the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria, AHOUN, that the payment for accommodation and masha’ir activities will be delivered today.
This is contained in a letter signed by Dr Salihu Usman, NAHCON’s Director (Finance & Accounts) on behalf of commission’s CHAIRMAN/CEO, Barr. Zaikrullah Kunle Hassan, dated Sunday, June 11 and addressed to the President of the AHUON.
In the letter, obtained by HAJJ REPORTERS, NAHCON expressed regret over delay in effecting the transfers of the fund to AHUON.
NAHCON explained that the delay was caused by some inevitable bureaucratic hitches at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, adding that the problem had since been addressed “following the doggedness of the commission’s management.”
“The commission equally regrets the slight delay experienced in effecting the transfers due to some inevitable bureaucratic hitches at the Central Bank that have since been addressed following the doggedness of the commission’s management.
“Consequently, I am glad to inform you that all transactions to these effects have been successfully made, and all beneficiaries are expected to receive value by tomorrow morning (today).
“While appreciative of your understanding, the commission believes that this development shall greatly facilitate the smooth conduct of your operations.
The commission, in the letter, reiterated that it is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that funds for accommodation and masha’ir activities are transferred into the respective accounts of all the member-beneficiaries to facilitate a hitch-free 2023 Hajj exercise.
