2024 HAJJ: REPS PROBES NAHCON, FCT

Abuja – The adhoc committee constituted by the House of Representatives to probe alleged poor services during the 2024 Hajj has summoned the Executive Secretaries of States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards for a public hearing. 

The committee extended the invitation in a letter sighted by HAJJ REPORTERS dated 9th October 2024, and addressed to all executive secretaries, states Muslim pilgrims welfare boards.

”In response to widespread complaints from stakeholders regarding substandard arrangements and services provided during the 2024 Hajj, the House of Representatives on Thursday 11th July 2024, considered and adopted a motion titled: Need to investigate the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and FCTA Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board over shoddy arrangements and Treatment of Nigerians during the 2025 Hajj Exercise.

“Consequently, you are invited to appear before the committee on Monday 4th November 202,  at Conference Room 231, 2nd floor by 11am”.

The committee further requested a memorandum of performance on the activities of NAHCON and Private Tour Operators, and other service providers that participated in the 2024 Hajj.

It also requested the invited stakeholdes to submit their memorandum in 12 hard copies and soft copies on a flash drive before 21st October 2024.
