Press Release
The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board (JSPWB) has resumed a training programme for intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj after the Ramadan holiday.
The board’s Director General, Umar Labbo, announced the resumption to reporters in Dutse on Saturday.
Umar Labbo said the facilitators are simultaneously training intending pilgrims in the state’s 27 local government areas.
He said that the facilitators are training the intending pilgrims at designated centers across the state, which the board has approved.
Umar Labbo noted that the initiative was to ensure proper training of the pilgrims on the basic tenets of Hajj.
“They are mandated to train prospective pilgrims on the Hajj exercise’s obligations, tenets, and cardinal principles.
“And the board will supervise the exercise to ensure that every prospective pilgrim participates in the exercise,” Alhaji Labbo said.
According to him proper education of pilgrims would prepare them to conduct the Hajj in accordance with the teachings of Islam and be good ambassadors of the country.
Meanwhile, Umar Labbo said accommodation and all necessary arrangements for the state’s intended pilgrims have been completed in Saudi Arabia.
Therefore, the DG advised the intending pilgrims to attend the training, given its importance in discharging the religious rites in the Holy Land.
He commended Governor Umar Namadi for his continued support of the board, which, he said, made the board’s training and other operations successful.
