A delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has visited the Yobe State Government to sensitise stakeholders on new policies and deadlines introduced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the 2026 pilgrimage.
The delegation, led by Alhaji Abba Jatau, NAHCON Commissioner representing the North-East Zone, was received by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, in his office.
Jatau commended the Yobe State Government and the State Pilgrims Commission for their early preparations, stressing the need for strict compliance with timelines and Saudi regulations. He disclosed that the deadline for the payment of 2026 Hajj fares has been fixed for 21 December 2025, urging intending pilgrims to make payments early.
Acting Chairman of the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission, Alhaji Adam Arjo Kayeri, encouraged prospective pilgrims to adhere to all operational and health guidelines for a smooth and safe exercise.
In his remarks, the SSG, Alhaji Wali, expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni for his continued support to the Pilgrims Commission, which he said has strengthened the state’s Hajj operations and overall readiness.
