The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON has called on the State Pilgrims Welfare Broads to discharge their duty appropriately for 2023 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The NAHCON Deputy Coordinator in charge of Makkah operations, Alidu Shittu made the call during a press briefing in Makkah on Monday.
According to Shittu, Makkah operation is the highest function in Hajj activities because it is the place where Hajj rites are performed.
He explained that normally, NAHCON takes control of responsibilities on Nigerian pilgrims in Madina, which includes feeling, accommodation, and their transportation, whereas in Makkah, it is the sole responsibility of State Pilgrim Welfare Broads to serve the guests of Allah..
Furthermore, Shutti, mentioned that “NAHCON’s role in Makkah is to supervise and monitor all the services and performance delivered by the State Pilgrim Welfare Broads, adding that it also asses how service providers treat the pilgrims in Makkah as part of over sight functions.
“We are measuring pilgrims’ satisfaction on feeding hygiene, timely for distribution and taste as well as quality of the food.
On the issue of private operators (Travel Agencies Alidu states that NAHCON introduced Aviation Monitoring Committee to monitor the operation of chartered airlines to a avoid the failure or miss leading pilgrims that paid to join them to perform their Hajj rites.
