The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, along with its executives, has met with the Hajj and Umrah operators to discuss the emergence of 10 Tour Operators that will officially lead other companies during the 2025 Hajj exercise.
The meeting was held virtually yesterday. A source who attended the Zoom meeting told HAJJ REPORTERS that NAHCON has explained the process and procedure that led to the selection of 10 companies and urged them to understand the situation.
According to him, “NAHCON acknowledges that a lot of other tour operators also meet the the criteria set by NAHCON, but it is not possible to have more than 10 companies as directed by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
So, we decided to pick from each zone as demarcated by AHUON, meaning Abuja, Kano, and Lagos zone. This was done to make the merging easier for other companies.
Some members of AHUON from Abuja are seriously opposed to certain companies that have been selected, but NAHCON informed them that the gender of the proprietors of the companies was part of the criteria used in the selection and urged them to cooperate with each other for smooth pre-Hajj preparations.
The source stated NAHCON said that they have decided that if you are a lead company this year, you will not be a lead next year as part of a measure to display fairness in the process.
