Nigerians should applaud Prof Saleh Abdullahi Usman’s efforts and sacrifices in ensuring that the 14th February deadline does not block registered pilgrims from performing the 2025 Hajj.

I happened to witness the Chairman staying awake for two days running between Jeddah and Makkah to facilitate the process of uploading payment into the Saudi Hajj e portal before the deadline elapses.

Though, there are challenges and hiccups over hajj service providers both the Chairman and other NAHCON Commissioners were able to overcome the obstacles and are now focused on how Nigerian pilgrims will get better services in 2025 hajj.

The Commissioner of Operations Prince Anofi Elegushi is a stabilizing asset and a workaholic. His sense of urgency in every issue provides the needed atmosphere within NAHCON” s office in Makkah even when everyone seems tired due to long hours of meetings and making contacts

Many people are not aware of how difficult it is to scale through the bureaucratic process of the hajj industry and therefore may not appreciate the effort of these leaders.

As a member of a hajj volunteer group in Saudi Arabia, Nigerians should begin to plan ahead of 2026 hajj at the right time which is now.  Saudi Arabia is coming up with many different strategies and regulations that will make it difficult to achieve success if you don’t plan ahead of time.

I pray for a hitch-free hajj for Nigerians and the reef of Muslim Ummah Ameen
