The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MOHU) has introduced new rules requiring equal distribution of Hajj pilgrim quotas between airlines from both host and originating countries.
According to the South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC), the new guidelines also mandate that contracts with air carriers must be completed before other arrangements can proceed.
In addition, the ministry directed that pilgrims’ flight schedules and manifests must be finalised before accommodation bookings are secured in Makkah and Madinah. The measure, MOHU explained, is designed to streamline logistics and ensure strict compliance with the official Hajj timeline.
