The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has refunded more than N31 million to 930 pilgrims who performed the 2025 Hajj, following a discount approved by Saudi Arabia on the cost of animal sacrifice.

Amirul Hajj and Emir of Kazaure, Najib Hussaini Adamu, disclosed this while presenting the Hajj report to Governor Umar Namadi in Dutse on Thursday. He explained that each pilgrim who paid through the board will receive N42,996 as refund, after direct negotiations with Hadaya, the company managing animal sacrifice in the Holy Land.

The Amirul Hajj also announced the return of over N24 million to the state treasury, citing transparent and prudent management of operational funds by the board. He commended Governor Namadi for providing welfare support and giving each pilgrim a Sallah gift of 100 Saudi Riyals.

Governor Namadi lauded the Amirul Hajj and the board for a successful exercise, noting the absence of abscondment and medical emergencies such as childbirth. He also praised the new system of allocating accommodation before arrival in Makkah, which eased long-standing challenges.

Director General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, attributed the success to the governor’s unwavering support and prayed for Allah’s guidance for the state’s leadership.
