2026 Hajj: Yobe Pilgrims Commission begins Sensitisation Tour

The Yobe State Pilgrims Commission commenced a state-wide sensitization tour visitation to the Chairmen of all 17 LGAs and traditional rulers to seek their patronage in respect of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

 

The committee under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Alh Mai Aliyu Usman received by Local government Chairmen and Traditional rulers to inform them that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had declared 31st December, 2025 as the deadline for every intending pilgrim and sponsors to make complete payment of the (N8.118,333,67) as hajj fare.

 

He added that the 31st December, 2025 deadline is sacrosanct and failure to comply might jeopardise visa issuance for intending Pilgrims.

 

Following the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria(NAHCON), set 31st December deadline for payment of 2026 hajj fare,

He also presented some basic information on the conduct of 2026 Hajj preparations. The sensitisation exercise was a successful outreach and has informed pilgrims to prepare, as well as intending pilgrims to deposit their fare for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage.

 

The delegation, which included directors of the commissions and other staff, urged the local government to champion the campaign by encouraging households, religious centres, and community groups to participate in the exercise.

 

In response, LGAs’ representatives said the government is just settling down to business. and assurances that the council would engage with community leaders, including  muslim council, Jumaa imams and other Muslim leaders,
