A Call to NAHCON: Handle the 2026 Hajj with Greater Commitment and Transparency

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) must take its responsibilities with greater seriousness. The way Hajj preparations are being handled — from fares, accommodation, transportation, to feeding — needs significant improvement.

Other countries manage their Hajj operations efficiently, and Nigeria should not be left behind. Many Nigerian Muslims are unhappy with the recent Hajj fare reduction, as the difference is too small to bring real relief. Even President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed that the fare be reduced, yet the effect is barely felt.

NAHCON must improve its planning, transparency, and service delivery. Nigerians are watching — every kobo spent should reflect accountability and fairness.

May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria and grant us a successful and peaceful 2026 Hajj.

NAHCON has recently signed an agreement with Mahariq Aldahabia (Sana) for the provision of services for Nigerian pilgrims — a positive step that should be matched with sincerity and diligence
