Press Release
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has restated the state government’s commitment to the welfare of intending pilgrims, assuring that their well-being will remain pivotal to ensuring successful and smooth Hajj operations.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Governor, gave the assurance while receiving a delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by the Commissioner representing the Southwest, Dr. Tajudeen Oladejo, in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun stated that the state government will examine the concerns raised by the Commission and work towards addressing them, adding that the state will continue to provide high-quality services for its Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to ensure a seamless hajj experience.
Earlier, Dr. Oladejo commended the Ogun State Government for its consistent support for Hajj activities. He cited several efforts made by the state over the years, including a year payment differential on the Pilgrims’ Basic Travel Allowance, approval of full operational funding, transportation of pilgrims to different sites in Mecca and Medina, and the appointment of competent Board members to oversee the State Pilgrims Board, among others.
Dr. Oladejo expressed confidence that the government would tackle the challenges identified ahead of the 2026 Hajj and develop workable solutions to them.
