Hajj 2026: Sokoto Outlines Schedule for Medical Screening

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has released the schedule for the ongoing mandatory medical screening of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj across the state.

 

In a statement on Sunday, the agency said the screening exercise is being conducted in all 23 local government areas by its 2026 Medical Committee to ensure that intending pilgrims are medically fit and adequately prepared for the pilgrimage.

 

The team leader of the medical committee, Ballo Abubakar Attahiru, said the exercise has been progressing smoothly and peacefully, commending the cooperation of pilgrims and the support of local authorities.

 

He urged intending pilgrims to strictly adhere to the timetable and report promptly at their designated centres to avoid delays in their Hajj processing.

 

According to the agency, the screening will hold as follows

Tuesday, 6/1/26 – Illela / Gada — Illela

 

Wednesday, 7/1/26 – Gwadabawa / Kware — Kware

 

Thursday, 8/1/26 – Binji / Silame / Tangaza / Balle — Binji

 

Saturday, 10/1/26 – Tambuwal / Kebbe — Tambuwal

 

Tuesday, 13/1/26 – Wurno / Rabah / Goronyo — Wurno

 

Wednesday, 14/1/26 – Bodinga / Yabo / Shagari — Bodinga

 

Tuesday, 6/1/26 – Isa / Sabon Birni — Isa

 

The agency reiterated that participation in the medical screening is compulsory for all intending pilgrims, warning that failure to comply could affect their chances of taking part in the 2026 Hajj.
