Barring any changes, the Tawfiq Al Rabiah, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, is expected to arrive in Nigeria next week as part of an official tour of key Hajj and Umrah countries.

A senior diplomatic source disclosed that the minister and his delegation would be in Nigeria to hold strategic engagements with major Hajj and Umrah stakeholders ahead of the 2026 Hajj. “Yes, the Minister of Hajj will be coming to Nigeria next week and he is scheduled to meet with Vice President, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, to discuss preparations for the 2026 Hajj and the future of the Hajj industry,” the source said.

During the visit, the minister is also expected to meet with the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards and private Hajj operators. Selected airline operators and media stakeholders covering Hajj affairs are also billed to interface with the delegation.

The Nigeria visits forms part of an ongoing tour that has already taken the Saudi Hajj minister to countries including Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Malaysia and Turkey, aimed at strengthening coordination and improving Hajj and Umrah operations globally.
