Pilgrims with an Umrah visa can stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 60 days after arrival; however, a recent rule effective November 1, 2025, has reduced the time frame for entering the country after the visa is issued.
Key Visa Details for Pilgrims
Stay Duration (After Entry): Pilgrims can stay for a maximum of 60 or 90 days (three months) in the Kingdom after they have entered.
Entry Deadline (From Issuance): The visa is valid for entry for only 30 days from the date it is issued. Pilgrims must enter Saudi Arabia within this one-month window, or the visa will be automatically cancelled.
Purpose: The Umrah visa permits performing the minor pilgrimage and visiting Madinah, but it does not allow working or long-term residence.
This change to the entry deadline aims to better manage crowd numbers and streamline the entry process for the increasing number of pilgrims visiting the holy cities. Pilgrims are advised to coordinate their travel plans closely with their travel agents to ensure their flights and hotel bookings align with the 30-day entry requirement.
