Innovative: India Introduces Self-Booking Flights for 2026 Hajj Pilgrims

by admin

For Hajj 2026, the Haj Committee of India (HCoI) has introduced a first-of-its-kind online self-booking facility for pilgrim flights. This optional initiative allows selected pilgrims to directly choose their preferred travel schedules and airlines within a strictly limited timeframe.

Booking Timeline and Access

Booking Window: The facility is open for exactly four days, starting from January 29, 2026.

Access Platforms: Pilgrims can book tickets through the official HCoI website (hajcommittee.gov.in) or the Haj Suvidha mobile application.

Login Credentials: Users must use their registered mobile number and M-pin via the dedicated pilgrim login portal.

Eligibility and Restrictions

Eligible Pilgrims: Only selected pilgrims who have completed their Hajj payments are eligible to use the portal.

Exclusions: Pilgrims traveling under the Johfa, LWM, or Rubath categories are not eligible for self-booking; their flights will be allotted by the HCoI.

Geographic Restrictions: Pilgrims from small States/UTs where transportation is managed locally (e.g., Lakshadweep, Tripura) are also excluded.

No Changes: Once a flight is confirmed, no requests for changes to travel dates or carriers will be entertained.

Operational Details

Automatic Allotment: Pilgrims who do not utilize this 4-day window will have their flights automatically allotted by the HCoI based on availability, without consideration for individual preferences.

Flight Phases: Hajj 2026 flights from India are scheduled in two phases:

Outbound to Madinah: April 18 to May 4, 2026.

Outbound to Jeddah: May 5 to May 19, 2026.

Seat Availability: All self-bookings are subject to seat capacity and airline operational feasibility.
