The Yobe State Pilgrims Commission has officially launched the 2026 Hajj enlightenment exercise in Damaturu, the state capital, marking the beginning of a crucial preparatory phase for intending pilgrims.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, urged pilgrims to pay close attention to the enlightenment sessions, emphasising that these sessions are pivotal to the success of the entire Hajj exercise.
“The enlightenment program provides essential information on Hajj rites, travel guidelines, health precautions, and general conduct throughout the pilgrimage,” he stated.
Alhaji Mai Aliyu further stressed that the enlightenment training serves as the foundation for preparing pilgrims for the spiritual journey, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and guidance to perform Hajj correctly and in accordance with Islamic teachings.
The chairman also reminded intending pilgrims to complete their payment balances on time and ensure they receive the full dose of required vaccines, cautioning them to strictly adhere to vaccination protocols at all designated Hajj centres in the state.
