The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ismail Abba Yusuf, has commenced high-level diplomatic engagements ahead of the 2026 Hajj, meeting with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria in Abuja.
During a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on February 27, 2026, Yusuf discussed preparations for the pilgrimage, stressing the need for close coordination between NAHCON and the Saudi mission to ensure a seamless exercise for Nigerian pilgrims.
In his remarks, the Saudi Ambassador to #Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Albalawi, pledged stronger collaboration with #NAHCON to guarantee a successful 2026 Hajj operation.
The meeting followed a series of virtual engagements held last week between Yusuf and Saudi officials, where discussions centred on strategy, regulations, quota allocation, visa processing, information technology interconnectivity and broader bilateral cooperation.
The NAHCON chairman also disclosed that his team has commenced inspection of facilities in Saudi Arabia to ensure the comfort and safety of Nigerian pilgrims during the pilgrimage.
