Ministry of Hajj Begins Inspections of Unapproved Hotels in Makkah Today

Authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have commenced inspections of unclassified hotels in Makkah and Madinah ahead of the Hajj season.

In a circular issued to companies, operations staff and field delegates, a joint committee comprising officials from the Emirate of Makkah Province, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Tourism announced that the exercise will run from today until next Thursday.

The circular warned that the inspections will focus on accommodations that are not officially classified or approved for housing pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah.

It further cautioned that any travel company found accommodating pilgrims in unapproved hotels risks suspension from participating in Hajj and Umrah operations.

The move is part of ongoing regulatory efforts by Saudi authorities to ensure compliance with accommodation standards and safeguard the welfare of #pilgrims.
