The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has begun early preparations for the 2026 Hajj with an inspection of accommodation facilities designated for pilgrims from the state in Makkah.

Director General of the board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, carried out the inspection to assess the readiness of the facilities ahead of the pilgrimage.

According to the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, the visit forms part of efforts to ensure that all arrangements are in place to provide Kano pilgrims with safe, comfortable and well-organised accommodation during the Hajj.

During the inspection, Matawalle assessed the condition of the buildings, their proximity to the Haram and the availability of essential services required to support pilgrims throughout their stay in the holy city.

He stressed the need to maintain high standards in accommodation, welfare and logistics to guarantee a smooth and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from Kano State.

The director general also met with officials and service providers responsible for the facilities and urged them to comply strictly with agreed standards and complete all preparations ahead of the pilgrimage.

He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to continuous monitoring and improvement of services to ensure that Kano pilgrims receive adequate support during the 2026 Hajj.

The inspection, according to the board, forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen operational readiness and enhance the overall Hajj experience for pilgrims from the state.
