The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced plans to provide three meals daily for all pilgrims from the state during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Director-General of the board, Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed this while briefing journalists, noting that the initiative is fully funded by Governor Umar Namadi.
Labbo said the arrangement would cover all categories of pilgrims, including those with special dietary needs.
“This initiative ensures that all our pilgrims are well catered for throughout the Hajj period, regardless of their dietary requirements,” he said.
He described the move as a significant welfare intervention, adding that Jigawa stands out as the only state currently providing a full meal plan for its pilgrims.
The board expressed appreciation to the state government for its continued support, assuring that necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage for all participants.
