Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise, while calling for improvements in future operations.

Ndume, who represented the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, gave the commendation during NAHCON’s Post-Arafat Review Meeting held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.

The senator praised the commission’s leadership, state pilgrims’ welfare boards, service providers and other stakeholders for ensuring that Nigerian pilgrims performed the Hajj rites successfully despite the complex logistical challenges involved.

He urged NAHCON to sustain the achievements recorded during the pilgrimage and address the shortcomings identified during the exercise to improve future Hajj operations.

Ndume also assured the commission of the National Assembly’s support in strengthening policies and institutional frameworks aimed at enhancing the welfare, comfort and spiritual experience of Nigerian pilgrims.

The Post-Arafat Review Meeting was organised by NAHCON to assess the performance of the 2026 Hajj exercise, gather feedback from stakeholders and develop strategies for future pilgrimages.
