The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has approved the migration of passport personalisation for nine additional passport centres to the Central Passport Personalisation Centre, effective Monday, August 10, 2026.
The approval, conveyed in an internal circular dated August 3, 2026, was granted by the Comptroller-General of Immigration Service and signed by the Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of Passport and Other Travel Documents (POTD), T.O. Olaiya.
The affected passport centres are Farm Centre, Kano; Bauchi; Dawakin Kudu, Kano; Port Harcourt; Jalingo; Uyo; Gombe; Calabar; Yola; and Yenagoa.
The circular directed all affected Command Comptrollers, Passport Control Officers and Immigration Attaches to ensure that produced passports are delivered directly to the designated centres. It added that passport booklets for the affected centres would henceforth be dispatched from the Central Passport Personalisation Centre.
The service said the migration forms part of efforts to streamline passport production and distribution across the affected commands.
However, Stakeholders’ express concerns that the newly centralization may affects the timeline of producing passport for the 2027 Hajj intending pilgrims especially those in Kano, Bauchi, Gombe, Yola and Port Harcourt areas
