Lagos Sets 2027 Hajj Fare at ₦7.88m, Reminds Intending Pilgrims of Tight Deadlines

LAGOS, Nigeria — Intending pilgrims from Lagos State preparing for the 2027 Hajj exercise will pay a total fare of ₦7,882,822.00, the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced.

The official figure was confirmed by the Board’s Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, following the standard pricing structure established by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for pilgrims within the Southern operational zone.

The newly announced sum marks a slight downward adjustment from the ₦7.9 million required during the 2026 exercise, offering marginal financial relief to prospective travelers.

Addressing newsmen on the development, Ajomagberin emphasized that strictly adhering to the upcoming administrative timeline is critical for all registered pilgrims. He highlighted key cut-off dates set by NAHCON to ensure a seamless operational workflow with Saudi Arabian authorities:

Biometric Registration: Intending pilgrims must complete their biometric capture and data upload on the Nusuk-Masar platform no later than September 26, 2026.

Final Remittance: The absolute deadline for the full settlement and transfer of the ₦7.88m fare to the commission is December 2, 2026.

The board secretary urged all registered individuals to complete their payments and documentation well in advance, warning that failure to meet the regional deadlines could result in the automatic forfeiture of Hajj slots for the upcoming pilgrimage season.
