The Ministry of Religious Affairs has given private Hajj operators a three-day deadline to activate their Hajj packages for the 2027 pilgrimage, warning that their allocated quota may be confiscated if they fail to comply, ARY News reported.
According to reports, booking for the government Hajj quota for Hajj 2027 has been completed, while the quota allocated to private operators remains largely unutilised.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has directed private Hajj operators to activate their packages under the Private Hajj Scheme 2027 within three days. The deadline has been set for August 31, after which the quota of companies that fail to activate their packages may be confiscated.
Sources in the ministry said the deadline is the final opportunity given to Hajj-organising companies. The ministry has also written letters to the companies, directing them to activate all package categories according to their allocated quotas.
The letter warned that the Hajj quota of companies failing to follow the instructions may be confiscated. The unutilised quota could then be allocated to other Hajj companies or transferred to the government scheme.
The ministry said all packages must be activated on the Hajj Management System. For the first time, pilgrims will be able to select private Hajj packages through the ministry’s website.
Sources said more than 71,000 seats have been allocated to private Hajj operators. However, only 54 bookings have been made against the private quota during the past five days, accounting for just 0.1 percent.
Around 99.9 percent of the private Hajj quota remains available, while very little time is left. Sources said strict action will be taken against companies that fail to activate their packages within the three-day deadline.
The collection of dues under the Private Hajj Scheme began on August 23. Hajj expenses are being collected against 40 percent of the seats allocated under the private scheme.
