The Director of Enlightenment,Mal. Attahiru Bala Dukku, the PRO, and key members of the Enlightenment Department of the Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board held a preparatory meeting today to map out plans for the success of the incoming 2027 Hajj operation.
The meeting focused on early sensitization, pilgrim education, staff capacity building, and effective communication to ensure intending pilgrims from Niger State are properly guided ahead of the exercise.
Key areas discussed include:
– *Content development*: Preparing enlightenment materials on Hajj rites, health, and conduct tailored for Niger State pilgrims
– *Public awareness*: Strengthening media engagement and community outreach across the 25 LGAs of the state
– *Training of staff*: Equipping enlightenment officers and field staff of the Board with updated knowledge and delivery skills for better pilgrim guidance
– *Stakeholder collaboration*: Working with local government pilgrims officers, tour operators, ulama, and other relevant departments for coordinated messaging
– *Feedback mechanisms*: Improving channels for addressing pilgrims’ concerns before and during Hajj
Speaking at the meeting, the Director of Enlightenment said:
*”We cannot afford to wait until the last minute. By starting early with both pilgrim education and staff training, we will ensure that our pilgrims are well-informed and that Niger State delivers a hitch-free and dignified 2027 Hajj operation.”*
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, professionalism, and effective service delivery in all its operations.
