The Acting Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, has assured the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) of the commission’s support and cooperation toward improving Hajj operations in the state.
Salihu, who is also the District Head and Wakili Gurin, gave the assurance when he received the newly appointed NAHCON Zonal Coordinator for Adamawa and Taraba states, Alhaji Sa’adu Ahmadu Ribadu, during a familiarisation visit to the commission’s headquarters in Yola.
Ribadu said the visit was to formally introduce himself to the state leadership and notify the commission that he had assumed duty as the new zonal coordinator.
He expressed his readiness to work closely with the Adamawa pilgrims’ commission to streamline Hajj operations and enhance the welfare of pilgrims from Adamawa and Taraba states.
Responding, the Acting Executive Chairman congratulated Ribadu on his appointment and welcomed him to the zone.
He said the appointment came at a critical period when preparations for the forthcoming Hajj were intensifying, stressing the need for stronger collaboration between the state pilgrims’ commission and NAHCON.
Salihu assured the new zonal coordinator of the state commission’s “full support and unalloyed cooperation,” adding that maintaining a strong working relationship with NAHCON would help address logistical challenges and improve the experience of intending pilgrims.
He further emphasised that effective synergy between state pilgrims’ offices and the national commission was essential for the successful implementation of Hajj policies and the protection of pilgrims’ interests.
Ribadu was accompanied on the visit by the Zonal Assistant Coordinator, Dr Abubakar Barde Badamasi.
