According to this regulation, pilgrims for the year 1448 Hijri or 2027 AD will begin entering dormitories on April 10, 2027.
“Based on this decision, pilgrims will start entering dormitories on April 10, 2027,” said Kemenhaj Secretary General Teguh Dwi Nugroho during a press release on Tuesday (20/10/2026). The first wave of departures from Indonesia to Medina will begin on April 11, 2027, while the second wave to Jeddah will commence on April 26, 2027.
“The operational period for departures will last for 30 days, with each wave lasting for 15 days,” he added. The first wave of departures from Indonesia to Medina will end on April 25, 2027, and the second wave to Jeddah will conclude on May 10, 2027. Pilgrims are scheduled to start their journey from Mecca to Arafat on May 14, 2027.
“The standing (wukuf) at Arafat will take place on May 15, 2027, followed by Eid al-Adha on May 16, 2027, and the days of Tashriq from May 17 to 19, 2027,” explained Teguh. For the return of pilgrims, the first wave from Mecca via King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, back to Indonesia will begin on May 21, 2027. Meanwhile, the second wave from Medina via Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport will start on June 5, 2027.
The operation period for the return will also last for 30 days, with each wave lasting 15 days. “The arrival of the first wave of pilgrims in Indonesia is scheduled to begin on May 21 and end on June 4, 2027. The arrival of the second wave of pilgrims will start on June 5 and finish on June 20, 2027,” Teguh added. This decision sets the average duration of pilgrims’ stay in Saudi Arabia at 38 to 40 days. The schedule preparation refers to the Ummul Quro calendar of Saudi Arabia and includes activity calendars, operational periods for departure and return, as well as the average duration of pilgrims’ stay.
