Adamawa Pilgrim Killed on Way to Hajj Seminar

A 2026 Hajj pilgrim from Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Tukur Alhaji Ali, has been confirmed dead after an attack by unidentified assailants.

Ali was reportedly on his way to attend the closing ceremony of a Hajj seminar when the incident occurred. He had earlier left home to participate in the programme aimed at guiding intending pilgrims on the proper conduct of the pilgrimage.

Sources said a search was launched after he failed to return, only for his body to be discovered later. He was said to have been shot by the attackers, who also set his motorcycle ablaze at the scene.

The assailants have yet to be identified, and there was no official statement from security agencies as of the time of filing this report.

The deceased has since been buried in Kwapre, Hong Local Government Area, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The incident comes at a time when pilgrims across the country are preparing for the Hajj exercise, casting a shadow over activities in parts of Adamawa State. source: hajj ibada Allah
