The return airlift of Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia has reached the 44th flight, prompting concerns over the pace of operations among participating airlines.
In an update report by Independent Hajj Reporters Media Monitoring team on the ongoing inbound airlift, it was noted that while the outbound phase commenced on May 3 and was successfully concluded on May 21, there is a need for adjustments if the return operation is to be completed within the same timeframe.
According to the update, Flynas is currently transporting pilgrims who departed Nigeria on May 13, while Max Air is still handling pilgrims from the May 9 outbound flights, with six additional flights to complete before reaching those who travelled on May 13.
Similarly, UMZA Aviation is working on pilgrims from May 11 and has three flights to cover before reaching the May 13 schedule. Air Peace is also on the May 11 batch and requires four more flights to complete the May 11 and May 12 movements before advancing to May 13 passengers.
The update stressed the importance of reviewing the flight schedule and comparing it with the outbound airlift records to ensure a smoother and faster return operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
