The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has honoured journalists who covered its 2025 Hajj operations, commending their professionalism and dedication to public enlightenment.
At a reception held at the board’s headquarters, Executive Secretary Dr. Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris praised the media for their accurate reportage, urging them to sustain responsible journalism that promotes clarity and avoids public confusion. He stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the media and the board to deepen transparency and effective communication.
Dr. Abdurrahman also appreciated citizen journalists for their contributions, while acknowledging Governor Bala Mohammed’s continuous support to the board and the commitment of its staff.
In separate goodwill messages, Director of Hajj Operations, Alhaji Sabiu Barau, described journalists as critical partners in progress, while Director of Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Hashimu Abubakar Sadiq, said their work amounted to a form of religious service deserving divine reward.
Speaking on behalf of the honourees, Alhaji Bature Malumfashi applauded the recognition, describing it as the first of its kind and a morale booster for media professionals.
The event climaxed with the presentation of appreciation letters to journalists.
