The Borno State Hajj Commission has commenced registration and deposit collection for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

In a statement on Sunday, the Executive Chairman, Professor Yakubu Yunusa Musa, said each pilgrim is expected to make an initial deposit of ₦8.4 million, pending the final fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

He disclosed that NAHCON has allocated 2,028 seats to Borno State for the 2026 Hajj, with the deadline for deposit payments fixed for October 8, 2025.

The Commission directed intending pilgrims to make their payments through any branch of Taj Bank Plc and cautioned against dealing with unauthorized individuals or banks.

“The Commission will not be held responsible for deposits made to any unauthorized person or account,” the statement warned.
