BPP Objects to NAHCON Procurement Proposal, Summons Commission to Meeting

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has raised objections to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON) request for a certificate of no objection for the engagement of service providers for the 2026 Hajj operations in Saudi Arabia.

In a letter dated December 4, 2025, the bureau referenced NAHCON’s submissions on the proposed companies for transportation, Mashaer services and accommodation/catering for pilgrims. BPP said its review revealed grey areas requiring urgent clarification.

The bureau invited NAHCON to a meeting scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2025, at the #BPP conference room. The Director-General of BPP, Adebowale Adedokun, said the attendance of the commission’s accounting officer and key procurement officials is mandatory.

According to the letter, crucial procurement concerns will be deliberated to determine whether approval can be granted for the commission’s plans ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
