Saudi Arabia has unveiled a new extension to the deadline of registration to obtain permits for buildings in Mecca that will accommodate pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj season, Gulf News reported.
According to the new decision, the registration stage will run until the 24th of Ramadan, according to Deputy Governor of Mecca Saud bin Meshal.
Therefore, a Saudi state committee in charge of readying housing for pilgrims in Mecca has advised owners of such buildings to submit their applications at accredited consultancy engineering offices.
Engineering firms accredited by the municipality and the civil defense service will be responsible for checking the buildings and ensuring their compliance with the required stipulations.
Recently, registration for 2025 Hajj has officially started for Saudi citizens and residents through the Nusuk app and the official online portal.
The ministry has required pilgrims to verify their information, insert companions, and submit any requests for exemptions.
Crucially, Hajj authorities advised pilgrims to stay tuned and prepare themselves for the Hajj package sales, that have already kicked off via the Nusuk platform. Therefore, pilgrims should arrange their preferred packages, top up their e-wallets, and finalize their selections.
