Mashariq AL-Dhahabiah Company (Sana), the Saudi Arabian Hajj service provider contracted to provide services for the Nigerian Hajj 2025 delegation, has written to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to clarify its purported removal from the NUSUK platform.

NUSUK is the platform provided by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for capturing all service providers and packages available for Hajj services.

There have been reports that NAHCON is planning to cancel the contract it signed with the company and replace it with another one.

NAHCON Chairman had told Daily Trust newspaper that the commission is confused over the removal and return of the company by Saudi authorities and will meet today with them to get the correct situation of things before taking a decision.

Mashariq Al Dhahabiah had in its letter to NAHCON stated that its profile has been reactivated on Nusuk platform and that it is ready to provide efficient services to Nigerian pilgrims.

The letter, dated 30th January 2025 was addressed to NAHCON Chairman Prof. Abdullah Saleh Usman and signed by the CEO of  Mashariq AL-Dhahabiah, Al-mutamayizah Companies, Muhammad Amin Bin Hassan Andrqiri

The letter, seen by HAJJ REPORTERS states “We would like to extend our sincere greetings and appreciation, and we would like to express our gratitude for your continuous cooperation in facilitating Haji procedures.

“We, at Mashariq AL-Dhahabiah Company (Sana) affirm our commitment to providing the best services to the pilgrims of the Holy House of Allah.

‘We are diligently striving to resume what was postponed in order to ensure the success of the season”.

The company further wrote that Following its earlier correspondence with the commission with letter No. 460047Y/ “that refers to the lack of readiness of Mashariq AL-Dhahabiah E-Masar (Nusuk) system to submit package pricing requests.

“We would like to inform your Excellency That the E-Masar (Nusuk) system has been reactivated.

“Attached to your Excellency is a copy of the e-mail sent by Nusuk Included in it is the reactivation E-Masar (Nusuk) system”

HAJJ REPORTERS had earlier published that the Chairman of NAHCON has flown to Saudi Arabia to sign hajj contracts with another hajj service provider.

Why NAHCON initiate the cancellation of the Service contract on the E portal

An insider in NAHCON who craved anonymity had confided in HAJJ REPORTERS that the Chairman of the commission ordered the cancellation of Mashriq Al Dhahabia contract  because the Saudi Ministry of Hajj did not include them in the Nusuk registration platform – meaning they are not registered to provide services

However, when reminded about the letter that showed that the company had been reactivated in Nusuk platform, our sources said “that is all I know about the issue, but if they actually wrote to us on 30th of January that they have been reactivated and included in Nusuk, then the logical thing to do is to go ahead with the necessary payments.

“There is no need for any cancellation as that will create more uncertainty for the 2025 Hajj,” he said.

Meanwhile, a top official from NAHCON also spoke to HAJJ REPORTERS about the alleged cancellation of Masha’ir contracts.

“Assalamualaikum. I just read in the news that the NAHCON leadership has cancelled Masher’s contract. I’m not sure about the validity of this information, but it’s crucial that a meeting is held with the executive team and all relevant stakeholders before any such decisions are finalized.

“Additionally, it is essential that we review all relevant laws thoroughly to prevent any detrimental consequences.”.
