The South Africa’s Hajj 2026 quota has dropped to 1,150 pilgrims, representing a 50 percent drop from previous allocations.

The reduction follows the introduction of a new accreditation process conducted through the NUSUK digital platform, which has replaced the earlier system coordinated by the South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC). Under the previous arrangement, South Africa maintained a quota of about 3,500 pilgrims annually.

The current allocation reflects the ongoing transition to the new digital accreditation framework being implemented by Saudi authorities. The first phase of the process has already been concluded, with successful applicants receiving accreditation.
