In a move to ensure transparency and fairness in the allocation of pilgrim accommodations, the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON) has written to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) requesting urgent clarification on the availability and allocation process of the highly sought-after Tent A services for the 2025 Hajj.
The letter seen by HAJJ REPORTERS, which was officially acknowledged by NAHCON, raises concerns over recent uncertainties surrounding the status of Tent A services for Nigerian private Hajj operators. Tent A, known for its proximity to Jamrat and upgraded facilities in Mina, remains a top preference among Nigerian pilgrims seeking a more comfortable experience during Hajj.
In the communication, AHUON emphasised the need for early and clear information to allow its members to plan and manage their Hajj packages appropriately. The association also called on NAHCON to maintain transparency in the criteria used for assigning Tent A slots and to ensure that all licensed private tour operators are given fair and equal access to the premium facility.
“We respectfully seek clarification from NAHCON regarding the availability and allocation criteria for Tent A in Mina. As stakeholders committed to ensuring a smooth and dignified Hajj experience for our pilgrims, this information is critical to our planning and execution,” the letter stated.
The appeal from AHUON comes amid growing anticipation over Hajj arrangements for 2025, with operators and pilgrims alike closely monitoring developments. Industry observers note that access to Tent A has often been a contentious issue, and AHUON’s proactive inquiry may set the tone for a more structured and equitable approach this year.
AHUON’s letter highlights the importance of coordination and stakeholder engagement in delivering a seamless pilgrimage experience.
