The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reaffirmed its partnership with the Kaduna State Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Agency in preparation for the 2026 Hajj operations.

A delegation from Hassan Usman Katsina International Airport, led by the chairperson of the Hajj Operations Committee, Maryam Hussaini Armaya’u, paid a courtesy visit to the agency on Wednesday. She said the meeting was to consolidate the collaboration that earned Kaduna Airport the award of Best Hajj Operations Airport in Nigeria in the last exercise.

Armaya’u stressed that strict adherence to international aviation rules remains non-negotiable, warning that any violations would attract sanctions. She also recommended the provision of mobile toilets for female pilgrims, more fire trucks, and additional security checkpoints along the airport route.

In his response, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, thanked FAAN for its support and pledged full compliance with aviation directives. He assured that the committee’s requests would be conveyed to Governor Uba Sani, describing him as a strong supporter of pilgrims’ welfare.

Despite Kaduna recording the highest number of Hajj pilgrims nationwide, Salihu expressed pride in the airport’s recognition and reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to sustain the partnership for a seamless 2026 pilgrimage.
