Fintiri Appoints Abubakar Salihu Acting Chairman of Adamawa Pilgrims Commission

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the appointment of Abubakar Salihu as Acting Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission.

 

The appointment takes effect from January 2, 2026, according to a letter issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) through the Political Department.

 

The letter stated that the appointment was made in line with the provisions of the Adamawa State Pilgrims Welfare Commission Law No. 6 of 2025, adding that Salihu’s confirmation as substantive chairman is subject to approval by the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

 

Until his new appointment, Salihu served as Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, which has now been upgraded to a full commission.

 

Governor Fintiri approved the appointment based on Salihu’s dedication, proven track record and integrity, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide effective leadership and further strengthen pilgrims’ welfare administration in the state.
