The National Coordinator of Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) Ibrahim Mohammed has arrived Saudi Arabia on Saturday aboard the last flight from Nigeria for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

Max Air Flight NGL 3136 touched down at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah at about 4:28 am Saudi Time.

Alhaji Ibrahim said he decided to wait till the last flight to monitor airlift of pilgrims across various departure centres in Nigeria.

“ Since we already had a strong team in Saudi Arabia covering and monitoring the operations, it was decided that just like last year, I should wait and monitor proceedings from home until the last minute,” he said.

The IHR Coordinator commended everyone involved in the airlift, especially the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) the airlines and other service providers for doing well.

“ This is first full Hajj to be conducted by the current board of NAHCON and I must commend them for a job well done so far
“ Special thanks goes to all the airlines, they have really done well and our prayer is that the same feat is achieved during the return airlift exercise, “ Alhaji Ibrahim said.

The IHR Coordinator urged all stakeholders to immediately undertake a review of the first leg of operations and put measures in place to tackle all operational lapses

“ It is also instructive to urge all concerned to ensure that obligations are met on time to avoid unnecessary hiccups both during the Hajj rites and return journey,” he added.
