The final batch of two hundred and eighteen Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims including Government delegation for the Hajj2023 as well as officials of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission have arrived Yola on Aero flight NIG9083 early morning Wednesday after the successful completion of Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.
Media Team Hajj2023 reporter who was among the Pilgrims said the final batch was also made up of pilgrims from Shelleng and Mubi North Local Government areas including those who paid their Hajj fares at the Commission headquarters.
However, the Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary, Malam Abubakar Salihu and Director Operations, Hassan Ali are still in Saudi Arabia attending to important official engagement.
It could be recalled that a total number of 2593 pilgrims from the state performed the just concluded Hajj2023 and were airlifted in six batches to Saudi Arabia for the exercise.
In a separate interview with some of the pilgrims, Alhaji Umar Dikko and Hajiya Maryam Abubakar from Shelleng and Yola respectively commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing welfare services to the pilgrims, adding that they were accommodated in a three-star hotel and provided with best catering services as well as healthcare delivery in the Holy land throughout their stay.
They also saluted the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu for his leadership qualities and selfless service who they said stood by them throughout their sojourn for the spiritual rejuvenation in the holy land.
