The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has states that the return airlift of Nassarawa state pilgrims will commence today, Saturday, 8th July, 2023.
The NAHCON’s Commissioner for Operations, Abdullahi Magaji Hardawa, states this at a media briefing, holding now at the Makkah office of the Commission.
HAJJ REPORTERS reports that the outbound airlift of pilgrims for 2023 Hajj, which was started on May 25th, began with Nassarawa state pilgrims.
However, it was expected that based on the first-come-first-leave principle, Nassarawa pilgrims would be the first for the return airlift, but it was the Sokoto Pilgrims that had been airlifted.
But, speaking at the media briefing, Hardawa explained that Sokoto pilgrims were first to be airlifted back to Nigeria because their assigned air career, Flynas, is Saudi based and had got all its slots for the return airlift.
He added that the Nassarawa pilgrims, who came by Aero Contractors, would start being airlifted back to Nigeria today as the air career had been given its slots.
